Lab Interest during MEFS2009
State of the ART workshop
Very interesting topic to every
embryologist seeking perfection in performance
The lab interest group
team held its annual activity during MEFS 2009 in Cairo, as a
state of the ART workshop, presenting a very interesting topic
relevant to every embryologist seeking perfection in
performance. The workshop was conducted by Dr David Mortimer
and Dr Sharon Mortimer from Oozoa biomedical Inc, Canada,
presenting the essential issues of quality and risk management
in IVF laboratories.
The workshop was
attended by Scientists and clinicians in two sessions. The
morning session was dedicated to layout of general information
and the afternoon session was mainly concerned with trouble
shooting and problem solving for difficulties and dilemmas
faced in day to day practice in our IVF laboratories. Also,
many obscure phenomena observed in embryology labs were
discussed by the attendants in an organised interactive
manner, and innovative solutions were suggested by the
workshop conductors and the participants.
At the end of the
second session attendants received handouts of the topics
discussed and certificate of attendance. The original JPG
files of this workshop will be delivered through the MEFS
website.
As am being a strong
believer in the team work, i welcome your valued comments on
this workshop and appreciate suggestions regarding topics for
future activities. Please send your buzz to the MEFS main
office or to me directly on the following:

Last but not least, i
would like to express my thanks to the conductors of the
workshop, attendants and to Miss Hayfa Honineh, the secretary
of LIG for her perseverance and hard administrative input in
organisation and registration issues.
I am looking forward
to our next LIG annual activity in Damascus with more
enthusiasm to join and make the upcoming activity a success.
