MEFS @ ASRM 2009– Great Success

American Society for reproductive medecine developed in Cooperation with the Middle East Fertility Society Annual Meeting Postgraduate Course

Improving the outcome of IVF from ovarian stimulation to luteal phase support

Faculty: Prof. David Meldrum and Prof. Bill Schoolcraft

The attendance of the course was the highest among all the 23 courses in ASRM.  Every body praised the quality of the course which was a great success for MEFS this year.

Another great success was the very high attendance in MEFS symposium , Mild Ovarian Stimulation for IVF: Less Can Be Better, chaired by Prof. Suheil Muasher,  The Muasher center for Fertility and IVF.

Faculty: Prof. Paul Devroey and Prof. Zev Rosenwaks.

The room meeting was full very early and the ASRM organizers had to open two other rooms for attendees and use video transmission to them. It was estimated that a total of 500 persons attended the symposium, which is a record number for a symposium that is held in the afternoon especially that there were many other simultaneous sessions.

Teaching program

A teaching program on reproductive endocrinology and andrology was held in El Gezeera University, Wad Madani Sudan, from February 26   till the 1^st of March 2010, under the chairmanship of Prof. Michel Abou Abdallah and the participation of the university Obstetrics and Gynecology department staff, residents and physicians involved in the field of human reproduction in the region.

Two lectures followed the program at the university amphitheatre on PCO pathophysiology  and management.

Conference in collaboration with MEFS

The Syrian Society of Obstetricians and Gynecology held a conference in Damascus at Ebla Al Sham Hotel in collaboration with the British of Fatal Medicine Foundation and the Middle East Fertility Society from April 29 to May first 2009. 

Many workshops were held during the conference and more than thousand participant, international and Arab, participated in the conference. It was an opportunity to announce the opening of The Orient Stem Cells Center (OSCC).

Workshop in Jordan

Royal college of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists Representative committee in Jordan, Syria, Palestine held its 10^th Annual Conference of obstetrics and gynecology in   Amman -Jordan, on the 26-27^th February 2009  at the Land Mark Hotel.

Obstetricians from Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Palestine and Lybia participated in the meeting.

Prof. S.Arulkumaran, president of the Royal College, exchange views with the audience and explained the program of continued medical education for postgraduate in England .

A workshop on the management of postpartum hemorrhage using the B-Lynch suture was headed by Prof. B-Lynch

Uterine dummies were distributed for the candidates of the workshop and full demonstration was done for the application of B-Lynch suture in cases of emergency postpartum hemorrhage.

MEFS at ESHRE 2009

New relations were built and invitations were distributed to our guests for our next meeting in Cairo 4^th- 7^th Nov. 2009.
